Tapers, Decorated The first candles we made were these hand dipped beeswax decorated tapers. We form small shapes from our thin sheets of decorating wax, which is a mixture of waxes. These shapes stick to our candles with the warmth from our fingers as we press them onto the candle, one at a time. These continue to be well received and requested by our customers. Our decorations span the entire year with decorations for holidays, the changing seasons, and my son's Volcano candle. Also available in gift sets, in our Tapers, Gift Sets section. Pillars Our pillars are hand poured with 100% natural beeswax from Michigan beekeepers. Select plain or decorated. When selecting decorated, simply look over the 14 decoration styles available in our four "tapers" sections, then send us an email telling us your selection, when you place your order. Christmas Hot off the presses this season are our sunflower / bee and snowflake ornaments. Our bee ornament is a fund raiser, and half the price will be donated to research to help the honey bees during the current crisis. Our original beeswax Christmas Tree ornaments and ornament sets debuted last year. You won't find any heirloom beeswax ornaments like these, as we created the molds ourselves from our own sculptures. Ornaments measure 2 inches across, small heart is 1 1/2 inches across. New are our holiday candles, including two Santas, an angel, a large snowman pillar, small painted snowmen, large Christmas tree in natural and green, pinecones, floating snowflake, and a holiday bell. Honey Soap & Dishes Our Unscented Honey Soap, and specially handmade ceramic soap dishes are perfect for your bathroom and perfect as gifts for your friends and family -- especially for those with problem or dry skin. Lip Balm & Display Our natural lip balms are all made with a base of Fair Trade Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Sweet Almond Oil, and beeswax. For flavorings, we add only organic essential oils or organic coconut oil. We add one capsule of vitamin E to each batch, as a natural preservative. Current flavors include Unflavored, Spearmint, Sweet Orange, Ginger, Coconut, and our newest Peppermint. All flavors available in tubes or tubs. We've read the Shea Butter gives a natural SPF of 4 to these lip balms. Our handmade display is also available from our local craftsman. Sushi Candles Our Sushi candles are 100% beeswax, with all cotton wicks, rolled from colored beeswax sheets. We started our passion with a love for sushi at restaurants, and found a wonderful kit to make your own sushi candles. Then we went hunting for a variety of colored beeswax sheets and began experimenting with our own ideas. The result is an array of individually wrapped sushi candles and sets of three sushi candles in real bento boxes with real bento grass. Beeswax Bowls Our Bowls are made from 100% pure beeswax. Intended for use as a flower vase, with or without water. Use with dried herbs, dried flowers, potpourri, or any collection. Great Beeswax aroma, no fragrances added, just like all of our candles. These are not, however, to be used as candle holders, so please do not place tealights or other candles inside them, as the rims might melt on the bowls if you do, they are not large enough for this purpose. Travel Candles These are called Travel Candles because you can take you candlelight with you, and not need to find candle holders. These are 2 ounces, and can be purchased individually or in a set of three. Perfect for dinner with friends, impromptu hostess gifts, private dinners on the beach, camping, anytime. We've created a combination of this travel candle and a box of four truffles from the Back Yard Gourmet. These are listed in the Chocolates & Candles section of our menu. Tea Lights Wonderful tea light candles with the original aroma of honey from the hive, just like all of our candles. Our customers tell us our tea lights last twice as long as the regular paraffin ones, and don't have that offensive paraffin odor. Our tea lights require no holders, and can be used in your infuser for warming essential oils and fragrances. Infusers can be found in several styles, all with a bowl shape at the top for holding a few drops of water and essential oils, and an opening in the side for inserting a tealight. We have chosen purposefully not to add fragrances or oils to our beeswax candles, as other candlemakers are finding this adds soot into the air during burning. We believe the method of using essential oils in an infuser with a tea light is the healthier choice and gives you more flexibility in terms of switching fragrances when you like. Votives Our votives give a clear, warm light for your home. Three styles are available, including the straight sided regular votives, the coiled beehive votives, and the flowerpot votives. All must be burned in the glass votive holders shown, and you can get them here. Arrange several in a grouping to create a special atmosphere. Beeswax Blocks These pure Beeswax blocks are available as 1 ounce bars, 1 ounce hex blocks, and 1.5 ounce queen bee hex blocks. Our customers keep several in the house, garage, tool box, sewing kit, you name it, this is useful stuff. Candle Holders We offer a variety of candle holders for your candles. Votive holders are used with votive candles, use a cluster to create a relaxing atmosphere. Our 3 inch and 4 inch candle plates are for burning pillar and shaped candles, and our clear and red heart and round taper holders are for standard 7/8 inch wide taper candles. Colony Collapse Disorder A new book is out that really goes into detail on the whole situation, and it points to the new class of insecticides, neonicotinoids, which includes IMIDACLOPRID ( IMD). Imidacloprid has been researched and shown to disorient the bees, so they cannot find their way back to their hives. This whole group of insecticides has been banned in France and now Germany, and the bees have made a comeback in France. According to the author, states in the USA that have not issued permits allowing IMIDACLOPRID (IMD) do not have colony collapse disorder reported. So now the USA needs to do the same, in order to save our own food supply, our beekeeping industry, and ourselves. This fantastic book is "A Spring Without Bees" by Michael Schacker. This is ground breaking work, and a wonderful breath of fresh air in this maze of research studies in all directions. This book is now available on Amazon.com and at Borders.
